Your Rights as a Candidate

Last updated: 9 August 2026

How recommendations work

Role matches are semantic comparisons between your profile and role requirements. A match score is a recommendation to look, never a judgment; recruiters see the evidence behind it and every hiring decision is made by a human.

How assessments work

Assessments are optional, drawn from a reviewed question bank matched to your stated skills, and scored deterministically where answers are objective. A completed assessment adds a summary to your profile; an employer can never receive an automated rejection based solely on an AI-scored response.

Your consent, purpose by purpose

  • Discovery: whether recruiters can find your profile. Toggle it in Privacy Settings; turning it off removes you from discovery immediately.
  • Communication: whether recruiters may unlock your contact details. Withdrawing it stops new reveals, halts active email sequences, and removes your contact details from employer lists and exports.
  • Sharing: you can share your profile with one organization or one role, with an expiry, and revoke any share at any time.

Seeing who accessed your data

Privacy Settings shows an access history: which organizations viewed your contact details, documents, or evaluations, for what disclosed purpose, and when.

Retention, export, and deletion

You can export everything we hold about you, with a manifest of what is included. Deletion has a 30-day grace period, then your identity and files are destroyed and remaining process records are de-identified. Opt-out records are retained so employers cannot contact you again.

Questions and appeals

If anything looks wrong — a parsed field, a match, an assessment outcome — you can correct your profile directly or contact engage@thearq.ai.
